Local and freelance journalists covering migration and related stories on the US border with Mexico are invited to apply for one of two intensive safety training programs taking place on:

  • August 15 in Albuquerque, (1 x full day)

  • August 18-19 in El Paso, TX (2 x full days)

Both programs are designed to support and strengthen the safety skills of participants during an increasingly uncertain time for journalist security in the U.S. and will cover digital, physical, psycho-social and legal safety aspects.

Places are limited, available to US-based journalists only, and will be allocated according to need.

Early application is advised.

This no-cost training program is a partnership between The Centre for Investigative Journalism and Freedom of the Press Foundation, the ACOS Alliance and the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
